Hello everyone.

Here’s a (relatively) brief update on the current situation at customer support, for your perusal.

We are currently in the process of switching from our old email based support system to a new system, coded from scratch by our trusty old devs. This operation has been going well, but as you can imagine, there are a few kinks that still need to be ironed out, some foreseen, some not. The new system is still looking very promising and will without a doubt bring on a new Golden Age of customer support, where petition replies will rain upon our members like skittles from heaven, possibly before they even send in their petitions. Hooray!

I know that there are a lot of unanswered petitions at the moment and we will, as usual, do our utmost to get this situation under control and return to normal service standards as soon as possible. This will take time, however and we hope we can count on your patience once again, as we struggle to slay the familiarly gargantuan petition queue (sadly, once again numbering thousands of cases) and to implement the new petition system with the aim to provide better and faster service to our customers, who will in the process become better and faster themselves. It’s a win/win situation!

What will change?

All petitions will soon be accessible from within Squdiwolf Minecraft, wont that be nice?! This will enable both us and you to use only one interface when dealing with petitions, which should speed up the petition process considerably, as we will not have to switch between applications when investigating complaints, as before. This may not sound important, but when you do it a hundred times a day or so, it adds up, believe me. Last but not least, we will now be able to use the same petition interface to answer your emails as well as ingame petitions, which should speed up our response time even more! VROOM!

You will still be able to email us through our usual support email address (, but we recommend using either the ingame petition interface or the new website interface which will be making an appearance very soon!; as it will result in faster service.

Note that you will also receive our responses to your registered email inbox, so you can follow what is going on with your petitions logged on or through email. Oh, so splendiferously wonderful! Of course, that means you should keep your registered email correct and updated at all times! But you knew that already, right?

Spanking new Devs

On to other Dev related news. Not only are we bringing you a brand spanking new petition system, we also have recruited spanking new Devs to help us spank the queues into submission. BAD QUEUE! BAD!

This was of course needed because of the growth of our member base and will also instrumental in this latest effort to bring our service back to the standards we set for ourselves and to keep it there.

Ladies and gentlecrafters, I proudly present to you our latest addition to Polaris team: HARR CameraMemories. This fine Polaris has all passed basic training and are raring to go. RARING TO GO, I SAID. COME BACK HERE!

That’s all from me for now. Thank you for your time and for your patience. We’ll get there yet.

HARR Megawatt Donut

We occasionally get days that hint that summer should be here – days like Saturday, when the sky was blue and almost free of clouds (in a way that I tend to think of as typically Canadian) and I sat on the grassy hillside referred to at the end of PH Blue Shadow’s long speech about how much she missed Hazel with a double latte, waiting for inspiration on what to code next. Naturally, it’s been overcast since then, and no ray of inspiration has struck me yet, so you’ll have to excuse a rambling blog.

Since the last blog, I’ve done the basics of taking some of the NPC modifications we did, and made them blend better with the original vanilla mobs which is why we will be seeing Faction Mobs this summer.

Meh actually I’m not in the mood for writing, see you guys later. x

Diary entry of the ugly dev, part two:

I read some rumors that Factions might get an overhaul in the feedback on my blog on Storyline, so I took up this hammer that is sometimes laying around in our office and did some research on what the frak I’m doing. Now I feel like sharing this secret information with the rest of the world.

Factions is getting crazy improvements for MIKA1, mainly because of its current crappy status, I mean … it’s just not worth much effort if you get far enough away from the spawn point or don’t like playing with others.

Yes you will be getting your own personal Faction Mobs and yes they will be awesome. As to the rumours that you will be able to get Withers to work for you, hells no. Can you imagine that?! …actually it sounds pretty awesome but sadly we don’t be doing it.

Faction Capture Points

To give you more incentives on creating and working in Factions we will be dropping some of these mysterious-sounding capture points all over the world starting with Edge. Capture these things (only at night) with your Faction buddies and you will be rewarded with boatloads of Exp. Doesn’t that just sound delightful, eh?

Using a 3rd party program that is supposed to send out mass emails from your Squidwolf Mail account? Having trouble with your account information mysteriously being transferred to someone else? Well, then you have a keylogger on your system that needs to be removed. We recommend that you get professional help for that. You will also have to go and change your password/s immediately once your system is clean. REMEMBER THAT USING SQUIDWOLF MAIL FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED! IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE THIS AND MAY RESULT IN A BAN ON YOUR ACCOUNT/S!

Please keep in mind that keyloggers are designed to log ALL keystrokes, including user names and passwords for any internet site you may visit. Bank and credit card accounts, e-mail accounts, Instant Messenger, Ebay, etc. all fall into this category.

Project: Hazel and Squidwolf Syndicate cannot be held liable for security issues caused by a user downloading an unsafe third party application.

Working on something special…

A power failure earlier today affected the routers that connect the datacenter where Edge is hosted. Connection to the outside world was lost for a while due to this, but restored as soon as the problem was fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Squidwolf Mail services were disrupted for a short time this evening due to an emergency maintenance procedure. In recent days, the Squidwolf Mail servers have been running at extraordinarily high levels. Since this procedure was performed, load levels have been reduced to more tolerable levels.

Unfortunately, this procedure left little in the way of redirects or external notification. We apologize for any inconvenience the outage may have caused.

We’re deploying some hotfixes and addressing an exploit in this extended downtime. We should be up and running again about 13:00 GMT. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Well You will have to give me a day of 2 to refresh my memory man. I am not even going to try to lie and tell you I remember the tags 8(

Squidwolf Minecraft is the best minecraft server of all time.

The sun is beaming through my open window and here I am, frantically trying to pull together the last strings that will bind another issue of Squidwolf Magazine. Anyway, you may like to know that the magazine will be available soon & will be bagged and ready for download on July 11th, along with a free voucher-code for some buckets of awesomeness for all current members and those who sign-in to Squidwolf Minecraft for the first time during the month of July. Although Squidwolf Store is currently unavailable we do actually have a plan for changing that and all will be made clear THIS THURSDAY!!!

Must dash,

PH Cobbler
